Something Massive is Happening
Hello friends!
On 11/11, we launched Massive - a coaching practice specifically created to guide and support business leaders who feel called to take on systemic change. I invite you to watch the video from our “Awakened Leader’s Advantage” forum. In addition, I invite you to get on our community launch list here.
This essay was originally published in the US Edition of Miradas magazine but I wanted to share it here as well.
Much love!

Less than two decades ago, talking about our emotions at work was perceived as a weakness and inappropriate. Now millions of business leaders meditate or have some sort of consciousness practice. As more and more CEOs, founders, senior executives, and small business owners are exploring consciousness and integrating various parts of themselves, all of this inner work is waking them up.
As a consistent practice, consciousness is not about being “woke” or even being enlightened. It is all about increasing awareness. We first become aware of our true selves; that we are not the identities we were handed nor the identities that we adopted to survive or be successful. Secondly, we become aware of the enormous responsibility of leading other people. We move to a 3D state of consciousness - where we see people as not just bodies and minds, but as souls. Finally, we see the interconnectedness of everyone and everything and feel a call to start making positive changes in our lives and in the lives of others.
Regardless of background or status, higher consciousness changes the dynamics of power. If you are an awakening business leader, you will notice these dynamics changing and shifting in several ways:
Motivations change. Business leaders shift from being driven by profitability, business growth, high performance, etc to being motivated by a need for harmony between their inner and outer world. When a leader awakens, s/he doesn’t quit wanting to have a profitable business or be more productive, but s/he is much more likely to place a higher priority and value on relationships, self-care, and social good.
Systemic change starts. Increased consciousness always reveals patterns and systems. Because their intentions and motivations have changed, leaders begin to implement systemic change to address these patterns. It starts with personal/family changes like more time spent in nature or less consumptive behaviors. Then they see that the people they are leading deserve the same opportunities and the workplace embraces remote work, inclusivity, more autonomy, and more time spent on creative pursuits.
Using power differently. Awakened leaders see systemic issues beyond themselves and their businesses. They become aware of the systems that are harming humans and the planet. They see injustice and inequity and begin to embrace that businesses have an ethical responsibility to address social issues. Some leaders feel a deeper calling to go beyond advocacy and support to leading social systemic change. They want to not just do good within the system but do something truly bold and transformative.
If you look at every significant social/humanity issue, you will see solutions being led by business leaders - either directly or in partnership with non-profits. As such, higher conscious business leaders are the new “third way”. Business-as-usual is no longer acceptable in their lives, in the business world, or from entrenched institutions. This is why many business leaders are the mystics of a new era. They are prophets of change - but with the enormous advantage of having money, resources and time - and brands and infrastructures to actually make things happen.
If you have been doing the inner work, you might already be through the phase of changing your business to match your level of consciousness and are now ready to take on broader systemic change. You may have the humility to realize this next phase takes a different mindset, skills, and strategy. If that sounds like you, let’s talk.
