Mid-Year Newsletter
Hello, friends!
I first wanted to express my gratitude to each of my paid subscribers! It is so encouraging to receive your comments and see the list of subscribers grow!
This mid-year newsletter is going out to paid and free subscribers. If you are not yet a paid subscriber, here’s what you missed:
25 Monday Essays
11 podcast episodes
3 guides
For paid subscribers, I had attempted to do some office hours and a group call but there wasn’t much demand for either. I would welcome any other ideas you might have for increasing the value of your $8/month subscription. Just reach out!
I have an interesting year so far. Lots of new adventures, changes and challenges in relationships, business and inner work. All of which keeps me fully engaged in life each day! One of the biggest highlights of the year was getting to see my grandson, Fiver, for the first time since he was born last September! Yay for science!
Some other nuggets:
My reading pace has slowed some this year. I’ve completed reading 9 books and am halfway through four more. Go here for my books read list. The best book of the year so far is “Driven” by Douglas Brackmann & Randy Kelley. It was like reading an owner’s manual for my mind and really helped me frame some of my hyper-sensitivities, ADHD, anxiety tendencies and more.
Earlier this year, we launched a new community called Being Marketers. This community is intended to be a home for anyone committed to soulful branding and ethical marketing practices. Whether you lead marketing for an org or are managing your own brand, we’d love to have you! Check it out here.
I continue to craft (download?) new Musings every day or so and share them on my social feeds. This is my favorite Musing of the year so far:
”To love without fear is to experience a bit of what it’s like to be God.”Juan and I are up to 21 episodes of our “I Might Be Wrong” podcast. If you haven’t listened to an episode yet, check it out here (link goes to Spotify. It’s also available on Apple Podcasts). Our goal is to promote curiosity and critical thinking, so Juan and I talk through controversial and “untouchable” topics with the caveat that we might be wrong!
On the music front, my top album of the year so far is Red Shahan’s “Javelina”. Incredible songwriting, unique sound and well-produced. For Red’s new album along with everything else I have in my current listening rotation, check out my “Fostering the Music” playlist on Spotify.
All for now!
Much love and gratitude,
Justin
