Alright, here we go.
I’ll be honest—I've wrestled with putting this out there. There’s a little voice in my head whispering all the usual fears: What if people misunderstand my intentions? What if they think I'm just another white guy trying to be a hero? What if they flat-out reject me? What if we lose business over this?
But here’s the thing: courage isn’t a feeling. It’s a behavior. I tell my clients that all the time, and now it’s my turn to put it into practice.
Being an American citizen and a business owner are two profound privileges, and if I waste them on apathy or silence, then what's the point of having convictions?
So, here it is.
Today is January 20th, 2025—Trump’s second inauguration and Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The contrast couldn’t be starker, and the timing is no accident. This moment is a reminder of the choice we have: to passively accept the normalization of oppression or to honor Dr. King’s legacy by standing against it.
This administration has an agenda that intentionally normalizes cruelty, strips away basic rights, and punishes businesses that don’t fall in line. It’s calculated, it’s relentless, and it’s unacceptable.
The Trump administration’s policies will actively harm our employees, our customers, and our communities. As business leaders, we have two choices: stay quiet and protect our comfort, or step up and do what’s right.
That’s why we’re launching the New Resistance Roundtables, a virtual space for business leaders to have open, honest conversations about how to resist—with intelligence, integrity, and solidarity.
Here is the announcement from our Massive Change newsletter.
We’ll be diving into:
How to take a public stand with clarity and conviction.
Practical, human-centered ways to use our businesses to support marginalized communities.
Knowing our rights—and the rights of our employees and customers—to resist unlawful acts by this administration, and standing firm in the face of coercion.
How we can use our brands as platforms to amplify justice, champion dignity, and dismantle systems that no longer serve us.
The first Roundtable is happening February 11th at 10 AM Central.

This is a Yes or No moment in history. Privilege isn’t just something we have; it’s something we can use. Accepting this invitation will influence not just our businesses, but the world we help shape, the communities we support, and the values we stand for.
Let’s do this.
