Fantastic post, thank you. Love the lessons from Jeremiah Johnson, the thoughts on escaping the systems that no longer serve us, and the quote from Susan Piver!
Absolutely insightful writing! Jeremiah Johnson is one of my favorite movies. I’m 65, and have probably watched it 40 times over the years, including two needs ago. Two things hit me anew. His final parting with Del Gue. Del goes of rambling at the top of his lungs, like a madman, convincing himself of his validity of having made it as a mountain man. I think that’s Jeremiah’s unspoken ego.
And finally, the final scene, of him reaching out in response to the Crow warrior. I likened that scene to perhaps the invisible god we all chase. And at the end, it’s like that god offering us a peace pipe, after all the obstacles they threw at us in life.
Love it!
Posted at just the right time for me. I’m leaving a “system” this month that will require Jeremiah strength, resolve, and perseverance.

Yes! Marvelous lessons about going it alone.😊
